What makes the hour useful
Bring the state receipt and the federal form, or bring the news that the federal form was never filled in. If the acceptance letter is the paper you have, bring that instead of a guess about what it said. Those documents help the hour more than a story about the week the company opened.
If a provider already runs payday, know the provider's name. If wages were never started, say that at the start so we do not set a wage for a year the papers do not support. If the books still show a placeholder from the day the file was created, mention it. We clear that account by entering the real balances. We do not need the whole ledger in the first hour.
A laptop is enough. A phone photo of the receipt is enough when the heading is readable. The heading matters more than the amount. The amount lives on a state schedule this site does not print. The heading says which act you bought.
What the hour does not include
The time on the calendar creates no engagement and no duty on either side. We describe the papers you brought and we say whether a signed agreement would help. Sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need one yet, because the only missing step is a form you can still sign before the deadline. Sometimes the answer is that a lawyer should see the company agreement before any ledger work. We will say that too.
We will not file the election for you during a first conversation, and we will not run payday. Setup of a provider is engagement work, done after a writing names the work and the fee. The first hour is for seeing which paper is blank.

How we talk about the tax year
We will ask when the company began, because the election deadline is measured from the tax year, not from a date we prefer. Two months and 15 days after the year begins, or a filing during the prior year, is the form's rule. If those days have passed, we will tell you the late procedure and we will not promise it. Revenue Procedure 2013-30 is a procedure you can ask for. It is not a guarantee.
We will ask whether the state where you file follows the federal election. Some do not. The answer changes the state return and it does not change the fact that the federal acceptance is still its own paper. Bring the state as a filing fact.
If you already told a bank or a partner that the election was complete, say that in the first minutes. Then we can start from what you already told them. If you hope the letter shows up before anyone asks, a blank federal form becomes a surprise.
After you pick a time
You will get the usual confirmation from the booking service. The booking confirmation holds the time. It does not hire the practice. If you need to move the time, use the confirmation rather than starting a second note. If you arrive without the papers, we can still talk, and we will get less done without those papers.
